About us

Who we are and what we do

We are an independent charity offering advice and information on any subject, including welfare benefits, employment, consumer problems, housing issues, relationship problems, debt and legal matters. We are affiliated to Citizens Advice, a national charity.

All advice is provided by fully trained advisers. Our services are free, confidential, independent and impartial and are offered to everyone regardless of race, gender, sexuality, religion or disability.

Our office opening hours and contact information can be accessed by selecting links shown on the left.

Supplementing our advice services, the answers to many frequently asked questions can be found at Adviceguide, a national Citizens Advice website service giving basic advice and information on your rights online, 24 hours a day, and at advicenow. You can also access Self-help Guides which deal with the matters most frequently encountered by our clients.

Citizens Advice Aims

The Citizens Advice organisation as a whole has two equal aims:
  • To provide the advice people need for the problems they face.
  • To improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives
